Rebecca Darling joined Barrick as their US director of Corporate Social Responsibility in late 2017 and moved into her current role, Head of Communities and Corporate Affairs for Nevada Gold Mines in 2019. Rebecca possesses more than 15 years of experience in social development and environmental policy work specializing in sustainable development, with a focus on the extractive industries for the last 12 years. The keystone of her experience is finding the balance where social and environmental stewardship co-exists with private sector innovation and development.
Chris Reilly leads workforce development and education programs for Tesla, focusing on the expansion of Gigafactory 1, a battery and motor manufacturing facility in Nevada. Over the past two years, his team has launched several programs to develop the next generation of engineers in Nevada. Most recently, Chris managed Tesla’s $37.5 million investment into Nevada K-12 education over five years. Prior to Tesla, Chris worked at Apple for almost a decade in San Francisco, Shanghai, and London in roles across Product Merchandising, Program Management, and Finance.
Amelia Gulling is the Director of the Desert Research Institute's (DRI) STEM education program and founded Science Alive, their expansive K-12 STEM education program. Gulling started at DRI in 2012 and created the well known Green Box, traveling STEM kit program, that now has reached over 100,000 students across the state of Nevada and reaches 35,000 students on an annual basis. Gulling oversees the management and development of Science Alive, which currently is one of only two state-wide organizations approved as a STEM program by the Governor's Office of Innovation and Technology, is a $2 million operation, and has 11 full-time staff in both Reno and Las Vegas.
